Morning family   !!!

Im wearing some cute eggplant  colored cuffed capri pants today

I got the capris  from a labels for less type of store but the original price ticket said
Lane Bryant.   and was wondering just how " true to size" -  this size 16 is

Im wondering in your experience what store would you say has the sizing of their clothes  closer to accurate where I can test these waters and this body for sure.

That way it can give me give me something to work toward or make my day totally

A sista needs to know these things for sure !!!

How secure are you in your clothes when it comes to the sizes....cause I know that the manufactors are making things bigger these days to accomodate the larger portion sizes that we consume.

Thanks !

I have not been in LB since wls however they seemed pretty true to size.  If I bought a 24 somewhere else I would still buy a 24 at LB.  Can't see why it would be different with a 16.  Hope it makes your day better.  Take care PrettyPlum.

Thanks Z....I never did Lane Bryant either as their stuff was always too pricey for my blood.

But when I saw these $44 capri's for  less than $10.....and they were cute I had to jump on them.

I wasnt sure they would fit...but figured if I continued to work my thing they would eventually and low and behold they slid on today with ease

Your response is like music to my ears........and has made my day.
Alls I know is I wont be able to tell these hips nothing today

I think it is pretty true to size.  Lane Bryant and Avenue always seemed to be pretty consistent with each other.  It is when we begin to venture into the " normal" stores that I get nervous.  I just ordered some clothes in smaller sizes and I will let you know if I notice any significant differences.  Also, when I got some new jeans a few months ago at Macy's, I was blown away by the sizing.  They were 32, 34, 36 (by waist size) instead of size 12, 14, 16.

Thanks Lady J....Im still smiling girly !

Keep me posted on the clothes you get....I would love to know how you made out.

I dont have the funds to shop the way I want these days...so Im kinda pieceing my wardrobe together  and venturing into the different sizes along the way bit by by........

Nope, Lane Bryant's 16 is not a regular 16. It's a 16W. They give a few extra inches in the cut for plus size women. I can wear size 12 clothes from Gap and other normie stores but a 12 from Lane Bryant or Torrid is too big. NY&Co to me is cut a tiny bit big also, but try a 16 from there and see how you do. When I started testing the normie stores I started there.

Girl, places like the GAP were built for chicks like me......no azz and no hips. It's a lil easier finding stuff that fits right when you're shaped like the clothes were designed for! A gift and a curse LMAO. I'd trade gettin some hips for GAP jeans any day!!

Good luck on the hunt!! lol But for real if you ever really wanna see your "true" size, try on wedding dresses. They in no way shape or form have conformed to vanity sizing!
